Description

Our research in Intelligent Communications and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (ICAS Lab) focuses on designing novel and optimized algorithms, protocols, and techniques for communications and networking in extreme and uncertain situations.

As we move towards 5G-advanced and pave the way towards the next generation, i.e., sustainable 6G, we need to investigate the integration of this technology with smart industrial applications.

Business Applications

We provide intelligent connectivity subject to agility, efficiency, and user experience in the following applications:

  • Application 1: Cooperative mobile robotics
  • Application 2: Remote control and monitoring for process automation
  • Application 3: 5G solutions for manufacturing and Industry 4.0

Case Study

Smart Communications Solutions in the Field

  • Real-time communication is needed to constantly connect the computing platform with the factory production facilities in a smart manufacturing process. The interaction between the sensory/actuator/controller parts and the cloud/edge computing unit requires a reliable and ubiquitous communication network. Multiple tiers of data collection are defined in this smart manufacturing process.
