As part of CSU 2.0, Cleveland State's plan for institutional strength and growth, the University has actively recruited highly accomplished new faculty, many of whom arrive with research grants in hand. Two new hires in the College of Arts & Sciences have brought with them the first ever National Institutes of Health (NIH) K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Awards at CSU.

Jackson Taylor, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences (BGES), and Junior Gonzales, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, joined CSU last fall. Meet Eunlye Lee, School of Social Work

Dr. Eunlye (Eunice) Lee is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work. Prior to joining CSU, she was an HRSA-funded T32 research fellow in the Department of Bioethics, School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She received her Doctorate in Social Welfare from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at CWRU in 2016. Read More »

New Study by CSU Researchers and FAU Partner: Offering Paid Sick Leave Good for U.S. Business

A new study published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine by Cleveland State University (CSU) and Florida Atlantic University (FAU) researchers found compelling evidence of significant benefits of paid sick leave to organizations.

CSU’s Candice Vander Weerdt, Ph.D., from the Department of Management and Patricia Stoddard-Dare, Ph.D., from the School of Social Work, were joined by co-author LeaAnne DeRigne, Ph.D., MSW from FAU on the study. The researchers systematically reviewed 22 years of research examining the relationship between paid sick leave benefits and short-term and long-term U.S. business outcomes. Read More »

Innovation Day will showcase leading-edge innovations in Northeast Ohio’s innovation ecosystems, organized jointly by Northeast Ohio Public Universities and sponsored by industry partners. The event will serve as a venue for innovators, university faculties, and students to discuss and showcase the region’s key innovations, technology transfer strategies, and thought leadership.

U.S. Patent Issuance

The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent 11,494,854  titled Systems And Methods For Managing Watchlist Constraints On An Electric Power Grid that names former CSU assistant professor Hongxing Ye and CSU graduate Shubo Zhang  as inventors. The patent is directed to a systems and methods for managing watchlist constraints on an electric power grid. Read More »
