TeCK Fund Phase 3 Award 
The TeCK Fund held its Selection Committee Meeting on July 12, 2023 at the Kent State College  of Podiatry and selected CSU’s proposal for funding. The CSU submission was  provided by Dr. Michael Gallagher,  an assistant professor of practice in the Department of Mechanical  Engineering, and titled Next Generation Passive Exoskeleton to assist Gait Function. This  project will help validate an innovative and reliable medical device to assist  individuals suffering from gait or mobility issues by providing up 50% more  torque to the affected leg. 
One key focus of the passive exoskeleton will  be on individuals suffering from gait issues as a result of multiple sclerosis,  muscular dystrophy or stroke.  These  individuals may incur problems walking and the passive exoskeleton will provide  the necessary strength to correct the shortfall.  |

  CSU Research Corporation Annual Meeting 
The CSU Research Corporation (CSURC) Board of Directors held their Annual Meeting on June 14, 2023. New  Board Directors Randi Thomas, JD and Jerzy Sawicki, Ph.D were introduced. The  Board was updated by Meredith Bond, President and CEO, Jack Kraszewski, COO and  Executive Director and Ben Ward, Director, Research Development & Ethics.  Several faculty research efforts and funding accomplishments were highlighted.  All industry sponsored research collaborations administered by CSURC were also  highlights. 
Dr. Prabaha Sikder, an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented the progress of his TeCK  Fund awarded proprietary dental implant technology. Contact Jack Kraszewski for information regarding the benefits of  CSURC and technology transfer.  |
